Ok, so some of you might have noticed that something is different with my site. Mainly that it looks nothing like what it used to, some of the stories are missing and the pictures that went with other stores are now gone. So, what happened? Well, half of it I blame on word press, the other half I blame on me being a retard.
So, about a year ago, my then girlfriend, now finance, got me hooked onto Drupal, which her brother Ted uses at his job with lifetime. So I got interested in it and created www.youroutdoorsonline.com, which I have been spending a good portion of my free time working on.
Deciding a few weeks ago that I really really liked Drupal's flexibility and ease of theme ability, I decided to transfer Words From Andy from Word Press to Drupal.
First things first, I needed to update word press, which I haven't done in... ever. This is where the problem began. I went ahead with what i thought would be a straight forward update process. It wasn't.
About 5 hours latter I was stuck with a database that was not compatible with the install that I had just tried to update. To make matters worse, being the moron that I am (I did say it was partially my fault) I didn't back up the site. So, I still have my database floating around, but no way to access it, other than through using SQL.
So I started to do the one thing that I could figure out to get my info back. I copy and pasted it. 2 hours latter my site was finally migrated. And then created the new theme for it, which I'm already thinking about changing. I like the monkeys, I just think it's slightly... blah. So I might be thinking about that.
But, that is the reason everything is a bit... diffrenty.
